While the data can also be downloaded through the USB, CF card or LAN, it can be recorded onto a hard drive (up to 160GB) or a memory card (up to 8GB). The DVR can be used in rugged tough environments with its anti-vibration feature, and operates in wide operating temperatures even though it is fanless. On the other hand, the water resistant MR1 uses a small spy-style camera to record up to 2 hours (with the Li-Polymer battery) onto a memory card (up to 8GB) using a 2.5" LCD screen to show the recording (in both NTSC/PAL). This gadget can be used by police officers, drivers, rock climbers and in any other event where a light weight shock-resistant video recorder is required. It also contains an IR remote control. It can be used with the mini button camera as well as the lipstick shaped camera that can used with a headset.
